How do you even put into words an event that brought so much joy and happiness to our small town. I wish I could share with you some of the messages we received from people who were so grateful for our committee bringing this event to life. The messages from the parents of young children who were newly discovering their sexual preferences were heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time. The messages I personally found so difficult to digest were the messages we were receiving from individuals or families of the individuals who moved away from our town because they didn’t feel accepted or safe here.
On the morning of the event I was out and about getting stuff done in preparation for our busy day when I heard a radio interview with our committee head. It brought me to tears.
