We often get asked why someone should hire a wedding planner. I find it to be such a hard thing to explain. Using examples from our clients is often the best way to describe what we do. So here is an example from a meeting yesterday.

We have been hired by a client to do day-of coordination. Which means that we start working with the client a month out from the wedding. We pull together all the details they have been working on during their planning. We get from them all of the contracts, names of their vendors and any other details they have for their day. From there we build out their itinerary, go over everything to make sure they haven’t forgotten anything and help them to resolve any last minute details. This client is upset because she settled for standard porta-potties because the company she talked to about luxury toilets was going to charge her a small fortune to deliver to her stunning property that is between two small towns – far from the city this company is located in. Identifying with her disappointment, our job is rectify the situation and find her a better option so that she has exactly what she wants.
