I’ve got a huge heart for cancer fundraisers and this year I am proud to be sponsoring a Relay for Life team. In the Moment will be sponsoring Katie’s Team. If you attended our New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball or read about it on our site, my daughter Mekayla asked if we would make Katie’s Pennies our chosen fundraiser for that event. We filled 7 piggy banks with pennies.
Katie is a 9 year cancer survivor at the young age of 11. She battled the same cancer as my nephew Elgin, Neuroblastoma. Katie collects pennies, purchases toys and donates them to CHEO for the cancer ward. She is an incredible little girl!
Please help us in supporting Katie’s team by making a donation on the Canadian Cancer Society website and search for Katie’s Team (June 17th walk in Orleans). My daughter Mekayla will be walking with Katie this year. I will let you know when she is registered and if you’d like to sponsor her we’ll provide you with the link.

When Julia came home from a conference and held a team meeting to talk about the inspiration and ideas she had for us to move forward on – Love is Proud was born. From an idea on paper, to team brainstorming sessions, to our first Love is Proud Show, it was a great success!
Why was this so important to us? We were astounded that in 2016 couples were still finding resistance to work with vendors that did not support their marriage equality beliefs.
