When our girls were young they were in daycare from about 6:45am until about 5:30pm. Our life was so rushed. Thank god they were young and didn’t have homework and everything. Once Trevor got on the fire department and the girls got older we found that daycare wasn’t working for us anymore. I made some changes to my work, like becoming a consultant, so that I could work the hours that I wanted/needed. Gradually I have got myself to a point where I work mostly from home in the spring and I have to say I love it! I love being home to get my girls on the bus and off the bus. I missed all of that when they were little. I love having the house to myself. I work in silence with the windows open. I love listening to the birds chirping while I work. When the weather gets nice and our gazebo is set up I often work outside in the gazebo. My laundry is hung on the line, the house is tidy and when my family gets home I am relaxed and dinner is almost ready. I really hope this party company continues to flourish so that I can start working from home through the summer, fall and winter too. So many moments I missed out on when my kids were young…so many I am loving now.
