Our days aren’t all filled with emails, phone calls, contract writing, estimates, site tours, scouring for décor props, pickups, setups, teardowns, drop offs…sometimes we find time for fun things, just for us, that we use to create beautiful things for our clients.
Here are some pictures of the fun things we did late winter, and early spring this year in preparation for wedding season and to just “feed” our creative energy. It’s important to learn from each other, let our creative juices flow , and inspire others to take some time and enjoy these moments in life…even if you are stepping out of your comfort zone to learn something new!
Flower workshop
Sophie at Sage Designs is one talented lady, who we were privileged to sit in on a workshop with her at her new warehouse and office space in the east end of Ottawa one Sunday afternoon and play with fresh flowers. She shared her self-taught experience with us as we watched her do a hand wrapped bridal bouquet, and then practice making boutonniere and corsages ourselves.
Chalk Paint Workshop
Tin Barn market hosted a number of chalk paint workshops and joined one with the sole purpose of using my new knowledge to refinish some pieces for our design inventory…2 pieces are complete, 1 more to go, with I am sure an array of others to follow if Julia has anything to do with it. It again was a very relaxing evening with a group of fun ladies, if nothing else it’s nice to break from the norm of everyday evening life and socialize with other females!
So sign up for a class! Let it relax you, inspire you, and start some projects!
