North Grenville Rural Summit

North Grenville Rural Summit

There is nothing better than when a vision comes to life. I was approached by Jim Bertram of North Grenville about an idea he had and he was hoping we could help him bring it to life. He wanted to put on an agriculture based event in Kemptville. It would be geared to local farmers, more specifically small production type farmers. He wanted to create an opportunity for these farmers to learn and connect. He had suggested such an event to the municipality in the past and they put an event together but it was not what he had envisioned. His vision was grander. We were honoured to be a part of bringing his vision, The Rural Summit, to life.

From a planner’s perspective this was an ideal committee to be working with. They understood and valued what we would bring to the table for their event. By allowing us to manage logistics, registration and guide them with marketing and sponsorship the committee was able to focus on connecting with those in the industry that they knew they wanted to have as part of the event. We created a solid team. Come event day, the event could not have run smoother. Except of course the additional 60 attendees that showed up at the door. Not a horrible problem to have! Thankfully we had had a feeling that this might happen so we were able to prepare in case of over flow.

The reviews for the event were glowing. The attendees were thrilled, the speakers were thrilled, the sponsors were thrilled. Everyone especially loved the farm to table lunch that was provided as part of their registration. At an agricultural event like this one serving anything but fresh food directly from the farm would have been absurd.

“Julia and Angie were quickly able to assess the strengths of the committee and managed to keep us focused on the big picture as we worked our way through the planning process. No matter what we encountered along the path, ITM Events helped us to stay cool and kept us organized, which minimized the bumps in the road. (…) Julia and Angie brought ideas and strategies that allowed us to do things and add features to the event that initially we didn’t think would be possible. The results from the attendant feedback surveys were overwhelmingly positive (…) Without them, we would not have enjoyed the success that we did.”

As always we would not have been able to produce such a successful event without the dedication and support of our industry partners. A big shout out and thank you to:
