It wasn’t intentional but I managed to take the weekend off. Except for Friday night and this afternoon. Lol…so does that actually mean I only took Saturday off. Oh well, whatever it was, it was fun.
Friday night I worked the Blue Wings game. It was our Pink in the Rink game. We raised money for the Canadian Cancer Society in Perth. I had the most gorgeous pink ribbon balloons for the game, they looked great. I was happy the Blue Wings won. Every home game I’ve been at they have lost, one of the players accused me of being bad luck. Imagine! Me, bad luck. Actually I was starting to wonder the same thing because they’ve been winning when I haven’t been around. The curse is obviously broken so it doesn’t matter anyway.
Saturday, Trevor the girls and I ran in the 9 Run Run charity run for mental health. It is a run put on by the Ottawa emergency services. Mekayla ran amazingly well. Alyssa complained the whole way…my stomach, my head, my legs. Can you imagine! I ran into two girls I went to public school with there. One of them recognized me and called out my name. It was so wonderful to see them and to talk to them again. I hope I’ll get the chance to see them again. We also ran into several of Trevor’s firefighter buddies and their families. Not as many as I thought we’d see though. I started an Ottawa Fire Department Wives facebook page in hopes that we can create a better attendance at events like that. Have a look at the photos of us on race day.
