Team Christmas Design Challenge – Part 4

Team Christmas Design Challenge – Part 4

Another Christmas urn, this time by Angela.

As I was lazy one morning this week and didn’t make a coffee before I headed out the door, I popped through the drive through of McDonald’s and grabbed one. As I accepted my cup through the window I thought cute cup, then thought hey, this would be great colours this year at my front entry.

Now not identical, but my inspiration, I went on a search for hot pink and teal this season.  Now I am a traditional girl, always decorating with red, gold, silver.  My entry had the standard greens, grapevine, pine cones, white lights, some burnt orange mesh and matching xmas balls… this is a step out of the ordinary for me!

I am very happy how it turned out, it makes me smile when I see the bright pop of colour from the street.  The colours weren’t hard to find at the local retailer, and I still explored our 6 acres with the kids and our gardening pruners for the combination of cedar, scotch pine, white pine, spruce, and red dog wood.

Also picked some fallen branches of birch this year as a new add in.  I like the overfull look, not necessarily symmetrical with evergreen grouped by variety as some like to do…still need to stay a little country and simple.

Now will the colour combo move into the house this year….hmmm, haven’t decided yet.
