Team Christmas Design Challenge – Part 1

Team Christmas Design Challenge – Part 1

I have challenged our team to create a Christmas decor piece in their home; a centrepiece, a mantel, staircase or any other idea they had. Over the coming weeks I will share their designs with you.

Let’s get started with Sandra’s centerpiece.

Elegant Antler Centrepiece by Sandra

I have wanted to create a unique and elegant design with deer antlers for quite some time, but the difficult part was to obtain the antlers! Hunters are not willing to part with them! My son had told me that my ex-husband had a set in his garage, so he called him and asked if we could borrow them…no problem…great! I wanted the antlers to stand out so I needed to keep things simple. I have a large square dinner plate and one of the antlers fit perfectly on it. I also had a white metal mid sized pillar candle holder with a tree design on it that added a little “forest” feel. I like to use “threes” so I bought a tall white pillar candle and a shorter white candle and experimented with the placement on the plate with the antlers. Finally, I wanted to incorporate a little touch of color so I snipped a piece of cedar branch from the bush at the back of the house, added a small bird ornament and a bronze colored glass ornament, and that was just what the design needed to finish it off.
