Staying True to Their Love

Staying True to Their Love

I love it when couples stay true to themselves and their love for each other when they plan their wedding. It is so easy to get caught up in the wedding hype and get pressured into things that really don’t matter to them leaving them with a wedding that is more reflective of their family and friends and more often then not, out of their budget.

We were honoured to help this couple pull together the final detail of their wedding, the decor. Moments after one of our monthly newsletters went out I received a message that said simply, “Is that teal?”. The newsletter had featured some gorgeous table decor our designers had created for a linen show and included a stunning teal and burlap table. And…the rest is history as they say.

I met with the bride to be to discuss her vision and what better place to meet then at the venue. We met for a wonderful sushi lunch at Wasabi in downtown Ottawa. The venue is gorgeous and has so much character. Beautiful dark rich colours which I love and feel so at home in. The bride’s vision was simple, teal and simple. So I added to that, classy, and there it was the final vision.

I loved that the couple chose this restaurant for their wedding. They chose it because this is where they had their first date. And contrary to our recommendation and that of the restaurant owner, they even sat in the booth where they had that date.

The look we created came together beautifully and I must say that I am so proud of myself because essentially I did it myself (with only a little bit of help from one of our designers). You can say I am more of a logistics girl then creative or crafty.
I hope you love the look we created as much as the bride and groom did.
