I love that my job includes having to attend festivals to do research. Can hardly call this a job. Or perhaps I should call it the best job in the world.
I took my daughter and her friend to the Busker Festival in Ottawa. The festival is set on Sparks Street in downtown Ottawa. It is days of entertainment on street corners done by buskers. There are magicians, artists, musicians…and flame throwers. Ah, flame throwers. Imagine, throwing flames on closed streets only meters away from Parliament Hill. This makes me chuckle just a little.
This made me laugh out loud when we were there because I know how hard it was to close a single street in our small town let alone closing down several streets, all leading directly to the centre of our country, where the Prime Minister goes to make decisions. Ha!
Some of the things I loved most about the festival was the clown centre. I loved that it was interactive and people could learn to juggle and other fun clown style things. I also loved the artists that were there. I am really looking forward to bringing some of these great ideas and concepts to our festival this year.
