Much like Halloween, New Year’s is one of those events that everyone waits for the last minute to decide what they are doing. I find that so strange and so difficult to work with as an event planner.
Last year we hosted our first formal event. We did a New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball in Kanata. We celebrated not only New Year’s but our “grand opening”. It was lots of fun but it was so stressful planning it because I had no idea how many people were actually going to show up. Lots of friendly, “yes we will come”s but no guaranteed ticket sales until the last minute. By this time I had already invested a great deal of money and just had to go with it and hope for the best. It turned out to be a great night and everyone had lots of fun.
But like any other New Year’s event lots of the people I was hoping would attend couldn’t because of babysitting issues.
This year we are changing the plan a bit so that hopefully more people can attend. I can’t tell you the exact plans just yet but let’s just say it’s a family affair and you’re not going to want to miss out. November 1 in our monthly newsletter, our subscribers will get all the details before anyone else and be given the opportunity to buy tickets at a reduced rate. To get in on the details and to get a reduced price for your New Year’s plans this year, contact us and get on our newsletter mailing list.
