Corporate and Special Event Planning

My new adventure

am days away from embarking on a new adventure. Back in grade 12…just last year I think that was…lol…I was an exchange student. I had a girl from Germany come and live with me for 3 months then I went and lived with her for 3 months. My exchange student’s name was Kristina and she was from Berlin. I still remember the day her application/information package arrived. I remember the package specifically said do not contact until the exchange has been confirmed. So what did I do, I called her. Right then and there. Yup, back then patience was not one of the many qualities I had.
Well having Kristina here was difficult. I liked her, she was fantastic. We got along well, she got along well with my family and friends, the problem was I wasn’t used to having someone in my space. It wasn’t her, it was totally me. Even to this day I tell Trevor and the girls that they are lucky I have let them stick around this long because I have a really hard time having people around for any length of time.

When it was my turn to fly to Berlin I was a little nervous because I was afraid I would feel the same way. But it actually turned out the complete opposite. For me anyway…I never asked her…maybe she didn’t like having me there. But we totally bonded. We had so much fun! I got to see Sweden, Denmark, France…and Germany of course…I think we even did Switzerland.
A few years later her family came back and spent time here. They spent time with my family and got to know each other a little. Then a year or so after that Kristina came back for my wedding.
Well, 15 years later, I am flying to Berlin for her wedding!  And I am so excited!!! Trevor and I will be heading to Berlin for Kristina’s wedding. We have rented a flat right in the middle of Berlin and will be living the city life for 10 days or so.
Stay tuned over the next two weeks. Follow our adventures, read the stories and catch a glimpse of all the photos.
If you need to reach me for business purposes…you won’t be able to, sorry…because I will be living this moment. I’ll be happy to help you the minute I get back 🙂
