I would love your thoughts on this.
I had an interesting discussion with one of our industry colleagues a few weeks ago and I have been thinking about it ever since. Traditionally when it is time for dinner at a wedding the wedding party eats first. The bride and groom, followed by the wedding party then the parents. This colleague shared a story with me that has changed his way of thinking and has since changed mine as well.
He had a client who, when dinner came, was the last to be served. He approached him later and asked why he didn’t go to the buffet first. And the client’s response was perfect. He said that these people are his guests and in his home, his guests eat first. These people have travelled all this way, brought them gifts and cared enough to take time out of their life to celebrate this important day with them, they should be the first ones to see the beautiful dinner selection and not be left with the scraps at the end of the line.
I am in total agreement and have so much respect for whoever this person is. And you can guarantee I will be recommending this to all of our clients from here on out.
I would love to hear what you think. Please take a minute and share your thoughts with us on this.
