When it comes to bar service for events, people are always worried about how much they need to purchase or expect to be billed for when it comes to consumption.
Here is an easy guideline to follow whether you are supplying the bar services or waiting for a bill from your caterer. Budget 1.5 drinks per person per hour.
Now all things considered also remember that you know your guests better than anyone else, and your buddies may feel obligated to drink their fare share or more to celebrate with you when it comes to social events like weddings and birthdays. But generally the over indulgers balance out the non drinkers in the crowd.
When ordering wine with a meal – order 4 bottles per table of 10 people, which would be just over 2 glasses per person. And consider closing bar services during this meal time, so people will drink the dinner wine.
Planning a party at your house? Skip the hard stuff, because beer, wine and coolers are easier, and plan to serve one signature cocktail premixed and ready to go. No mixing or spilling!
And what about the non alcoholic options, well plan for 2 glasses of punch per person, or 1 glass of pop per person when served with other alcoholic options and to accommodate the kiddos. And be sure to have plenty of water on hand, a litre per 4 people will do.
As promised our staff are sharing their favorite tried and tested favorites. This drink favorite comes from Colleen.
