Our last wedding of the season was a memorable and amazing DIY wedding. Held Thanksgiving weekend in the Crystal Palace, along the banks of the Tay basin in Perth, it was a beautiful family event. M&J left no detail to spare, including a raclette meal that they prepared themselves. This wedding dinner stole the show for all our weddings this season!
What is a raclette meal? Preheated Grills were setup along the lengths of the family style tables, bowls of raw veggies, meats, seasoned oils, butters and sauces accompanied with fresh baguette, cheese and caesar salad. Guests were invited to sit and start cooking their own dinner while they chatted with each other and shared camaraderie. It was so amazing! My most memorable wedding meal by far.
I am sure that M&J will attest to the fact that it was a ton of work, as they prepared all the food themselves! I should also mention that they prepared all the desserts and the individual banana bread favours for each guest. But it so worth it, to see it all come together and everyone enjoy the relaxed family meal. It wasn’t the only detail we loved! The individual menus at each place setting to direct guests how to enjoy this meal were perfect. The distance sign post, reflected the grooms and brides families across the world and that they travelled to share this day with them. And the guest book, reflecting their history together and love of travel, that this is just the beginning of their journey and there’s so much more to come. Personalize it! It makes for such a significant experience to share with your family and friends, memories to hold dear forever. We love experiencing not another cookie cutter wedding 🙂
