Watching your child doing something they love so much and something they’ve worked so hard for is one of the most amazing feelings in the world. Last night was the opening night of my daughter Alyssa’s play Charlotte’s Web. She is Fern. She did such an amazing job! The opening scene had her and just one other person…I cried…the end of the show when they all bowed…I cried…and as soon as I saw her after the show…I cried. Daddy even cried at the beginning. He looked over at me and said “Are you crying?” I smiled with tears in my eyes and asked him the same question and he answered “Maybe a little” and smiled.
These are the moments in a parent’s life when all the difficult times parenting throws at you seem so small and unimportant. Can’t wait to see her do it all again tomorrow afternoon.
If you’re not busy join us at the North Grenville Municipal Center at 2:00pm and help support the Kemptville Youth Musical Theatre Company. The show is free but they are accepting donations.
