Being invited back to bid on a large scale corporate event is always exciting. Thinking out all the things you can’t wait to try this time, knowing the expectations from having worked with the company before can put you at ease. But it also makes you step up your game, you need to exceed the expectations of the client again.
The Minto corporate party is a huge holiday event. It takes place in a large ballroom in a large hotel, with dinner seating for 800 people. That’s a lot of linens, napkins, chair covers, sashes, centerpieces, and other miscellaneous room décor pieces to fill in the space and complete the theme. It also takes a team of our best people to pull it off, preparing the design plan, sourcing, procuring and collecting décor items, (yes even branches from the backyard forest), setting up the day of the event and the cleanup at the end of the night- planning, management and execution – what we do best!
This season’s theme was Winter Wonderland, it featured stunning snowflake gobo’s illuminated on the ceiling and walls, white satin table cloths and white fitted chair covers with tiffany napkins, set off with acrylic crystal snowflake napkin rings. The natural huckleberry branches in tall vases and winter theme sugar cookies at each place setting completed the tables.
As guests approached the entrance to the ballroom, they were greeted by a striking red sleigh in a winter forest backdrop, complete with the aromas of cedar, pine, fir and other evergreens to transport them into a real forest. Here at this vignette they had an opportunity to have photos taken by a professional photographer.
We can’t forget to mention the acrobatics that hung from the ceiling to entertain guests among the dinner tables, how visually spectacular!
You may present multiple ideas to a client before that one finally just clicks, and when it clicks, wow does it work out!
Looking forward to next year and all the ideas swimming in my head!
